MWR Past, Present, and Future



MWR  was founded by Rob McGinnis and Bill Murphy in 1976. Madison Women's Rugby has been dedicated to the sport of Rugby for over 35 years.  In the spring of 2012  an annual Alumni Weekend was established for both the men's and women's rugby teams .  This includes alumni games where the current team plays against the alumni in a friendly match.  The games are followed by a dinner with both the men's and women's teams

Although MWR is a UREC sports club, we volunteer on a regular basis to help the local community. We have worked with Mercy House, Our Community Place, and RISE. We also participate in the annual Relay For Life at James Madison University.
